The End of SSL and SSH?

I recently took a work-related trip to Bombay,India to train staff at our new office, and I met a guy who contributed an interesting story to Linux Journal (online). It discusses some of today\'s security issues. http://www2.linuxjournal.com/articles/misc/0045.html I was wondering what lengths people are going through today to keep information secure. I apt-get install\'ed dsniff and ethereal and ran them up, and was amazed at how simple it is to view network traffic.
